The villa was built in 1896 by the Quedlinburg merchant Paul Hake and served as a family residence. In 1902/03, the house underwent renovation and expansion for use as a medical practice and residence. The design of the villa was in the style of
historicism, drawing on
Renaissance forms. The entrance hall and the passageway located on the east side are particularly noteworthy.
During World War II, the villa was used by the Nazis as an administrative building. After the war, the building was confiscated by the Soviet occupying forces and utilized as housing for officers. In the ensuing years, the villa was used by various institutions, including as a daycare center.
In 1996, the villa was acquired by a private party and extensively restored to be used as an exclusive apartment building. Since 2022, the villa le Palais has belonged to the RST group of companies from Thale.
Today, the villa le Palais is a popular destination for tourists and business travelers wishing to enjoy the charm and beauty of the historic building and the city of Quedlinburg.
